THE QUEST FOR MEANING

THE QUEST FOR MEANING

My quest for meaning in life has always been a big part of my life. I have observed so many strange things that I still find so hard to get a meaning for. It is still hard for me to find meaning where a man was hired and paid $100 to kill his fellow human. How much is a life worth? $100?

Better still, a man was hired to kill a family of six, he shot them all dead and put an extinction to that generation. How much is a bullet worth, and what is the worth of six souls he shot dead? How much is a bullet each to the promising generation to come that he never gave a chance? I will continue to struggle for the rest of my life why human chose this path.

Some look for a reason to live. Some, a reason to survive, and some want to find something that will give their lives purpose for living.

Those who look for a reason to live want to live to enjoy all they have acquired or everything they aspire to acquire in life. In fact, people like this could possibly trade everything they can to live forever just for what is temporary on earth.

Those who find reason to survive will do everything or anything to sustain themselves. These are a set of people that could be paid $1 to betray their closest friend. They live as it is pleasing for survival. Nothing has value to them except what they can benefit from.

Those who look for something that will give their lives a purpose to live for will always aim to leave behind a legacy that will be difficult to destroy. These set of people believe that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. These are people who are selfless and chase after no glory for themselves.

Let's find some meaning if we can from here.

Those who look for a reason to live, and those who look for a reason to survive, have one core value and philosophy, it is called self-love. Those who want to find something that will give their lives purpose for living are lone wolf. They share nothing in common with the other two set.

Hence, there's enough evil in the world, for there's no limit to how much evil that can be done by those who desire it, which could come from the first two sets of people aforementioned. Those who are willing to do good are limited to how much evil they can overcome. This is because It is easier to do one good and relent, but difficult to do one evil and quit.

People who do evil find company more easily than those who do good. Evil loves company and will find as many as possible easily. Good people suffer loneliness, they need company but struggles to find. They desire what is right but often repressed by fear or suppressed by others. Hence, where evil dominate, it overpowers everything else and thumps.

I want to be remembered for doing something bigger than myself, says Jessie Reyez, in making a positive impact on the world. I want to make my life worth something and to die a legend and to make my family proud.

Marcus Aurelius also says, The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature.

Always remember that the quality of your thought will not only affect your being in the long run, but will affect as many innocent lives as possible that evil is capable of destroying.

My prayer for you today, may the good LORD gives you the heart to be fearless to reject evil, and the heart of your own to embrace what is good. Amen.
